Crucible is a refractory graphite crucible mainly used for smelting special alloy steel, melting non-ferrous metals and their alloys, which is made of crystalline natural graphite as the main raw material, plasticized refractory clay as binder, and cooperated with different types of clinker. As far as the performance and use of the products are concerned, graphite crucible is an integral part of refractory materials.

Crucible can be divided into three categories: graphite crucible, clay crucible and metal crucible. Among the graphite crucibles, there are three types of graphite crucibles: universal graphite crucibles, shaped graphite crucibles and high-purity graphite crucibles. Various types of graphite crucibles, due to the performance, purpose and use of different conditions, the raw materials used, production methods, process technology and product models and specifications are also different.

The main raw material of graphite crucible is crystallized natural graphite. Therefore, it maintains the original physical and chemical properties of natural graphite.

That is to say, it has good thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion in the process of high temperature use, and has certain strain resistance to rapid heat and cold. It has strong corrosion resistance to acid and alkaline solution and excellent chemical stability.

The crucible has more models and specifications, which can be chosen arbitrarily without the limitation of production scale, batch size and variety of melting substances, and can guarantee the purity of the melted substances.

Graphite crucible, because of the above excellent performance, so in metallurgy, foundry, machinery, chemical industry and other industrial sectors, is widely used in alloy tool steel smelting and non-ferrous metals and their alloys melting. And it has better technical and economic effect.

The types of crucibles are roughly divided into three main categories: the first type of crucible for copper refining, its specifications “No.”,; the second type of crucible for copper alloy refining, special round with 100 numbers, round with 100 numbers, the third type of crucible for steel refining, with 100 numbers.

There are three kinds of crucible molding methods, the more primitive and ancient molding method is hand-plastic molding. The second one is rotational molding method, and the third one is pressure molding method.

Graphite crucible is made of natural scale graphite, waxy stone, silicon carbide and other raw materials for smelting and casting copper, aluminum, zinc, lead, gold, silver and various rare metals.

1、Place the crucible in a dry place after use, avoid the intrusion of rainwater; slowly bake it to 500 degree Celsius before use.

2、According to the capacity of crucible, add materials, avoid squeezing too tightly, so as not to crack the crucible by thermal expansion of metal.

3、When taking out the molten metal, it is better to scoop it out with a spoon and use calipers as little as possible. If you use calipers and other tools, they should be in line with the shape of the crucible, so as to avoid shortening the service life of the crucible due to the excessive local force.

4、The service life of the crucible is related to the usage, it should avoid the strong oxidizing flame directly sprayed on the crucible, which will make the crucible material oxidized and short-lived.
